Peru encourages families to plant trees Israel Ruiz After recently ending a campaign to clean up Lima's beaches, Peru's Ministry of the Environment has announced that a tree planting campaign is to begin. 'One house, one tree' is an effort to work with municipalities in northern and southern Lima to encourage each Limean household to plant a tree in front of their home. "This campaign's main participants will once again be the country's youth and children," said environment vice minister Vanessa Vereau, explaining that planting a tree was not just a sign of respect for nature but a way of bringing families and society together. |
