LA PAZ, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) — The first ticket for the upcoming presidential elections in Bolivia was made official on Tuesday when Fernando Camacho, the former president of the Santa Cruz Civic Committee, and Marco Pumari, the current president of Potosinists Civic Committee, announced their intention to run for president and vice president of the country, respectively.

Camacho and Pumari signed an agreement in which they stated they would be running mates in the presidential elections that will take place in March 2020. The text of the agreement was released by the pair on social media.

The two candidates have yet to align themselves with any defined political platform, but said that they were open to becoming the nominees of “any type of alliance, citizen movement, or political party.”

Between October and November, through their civic organizations, Camacho and Pumari held town hall meetings across the country following the October 20 presidential elections, in which President Evo Morales was reelected.

The pair began calling for a second round of elections and eventually demanded the resignation of Morales, who left office on November 10.

Though this is the first ticket that has been formally announced for the upcoming elections, other possible presidential candidates include Carlos Mesa, Chi Hyun Chung, Samuel Doria Medina, and Felix Patzi, as well as a yet to be announced candidate from Morales’s party, the Movement for Socialism (MAS).
