Wright, Jr., Thomas GordonLEXINGTON - Mr. Thomas Gordon 'Tom' Wright Jr., 53., of Lexington, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 1997, at N.C. Baptist Hospital. Mr. Fred Morrison of K-Town Furniture will give the eulogy for Mr. Wright at 7 p.m. Thursday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends following the eulogy. He was born on Dec. 25, 1943, in Macon, Ga., to Thomas Gordon Wright Sr. and Ida Culpepper Wright. Mr. Wright was a 1962 graduate of Lanier High in Macon, Ga. He received his B.A. from Mercer University, and his M.A. from Georgia State University. He served in the Peace Corps (Bolivia 20), was a lieutenant in the Navy, and was a special education teacher in Atlanta. He was presently employed with Carolina Interiors in Kannapolis. He was an eight year member of the Million Dollar Sales Club. He was preceded in death by his mother. He is survived by his longtime companion, Paul Boyd; two sisters, Brenda Ledbetter and Sherrie Hitchcock; his father; a niece, Brandy Ledbetter; a nephew, Clay Hitchcock; and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Hitchcock. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, P.O. Box 1941, Lexington, N.C. 27292; or to the charity of the donor's choice.
